About Us
Kitchenette isn’t your typical kitchen store – you might say we’re…smaller than average. In mid-2007, Black Tie Formalwear/Tips Uniforms owner Bob Smith decided to turn the basement of his Midtown Village retail location into a store selling fun, funky housewares and gadgets. The cramped, subterranean space really wasn’t so different from your average urban kitchen, but with a splash of color, a little flair for design, and an awful lot of creative storage solutions Bob made a go of it. Kitchenette’s grand opening was in October of 2007 and thanks to our very loyal local clientele, we’ve been turning tiny kitchenettes into well-equipped gems, capable of turning out culinary delights that would do hometown hero Jose Garces proud.
Our mission here at Shop Kitchenette? To do the same for people who haven’t had the chance to shop with us in Philadelphia. We make life easy for you by doing all the hard work! We won’t endorse a product unless it’s been thoroughly tested (and the results taste-tested) and we can say without reservations that it’s beyond awesome. We shoot for reasonable prices, saturated colors, and unique design, but the bottom line question is, “does it work?” That’s why we stock industry award-winning products from brands like Le Creuset, Revol, WMF, Messermeister, Kuhn Rikon, and Oxo. We pride ourselves on selling an extensive inventory of top quality cookware, bakeware, cutlery, small appliances, gadgets, and more!
Our website contains just a small sampling of the products available in our retail store on Walnut Street in Philadelphia, PA. The internet can be a bit impersonal, but Kitchenette wouldn’t be a success without our customers – even the ones separated by thousands of miles and a cable modem. That’s why you should always feel free to shoot us an email or pick up the phone if you have any questions about our products, items available in store, or…well, anything else. We love special orders and we’re more than happy to help you put together a gift basket, plan a wedding registry, or customize corporate gifts.

Our retail store is located in Center City at 1120 Walnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19107. Just look for that famous Will Cook For Sex apron outside and take the steps down to the lower level.
